This is a song I've been kicking around for several years now. I've never been able to come up with a good arrangement until now. Just simple instrumentation and let the song be itself. It has really bothered me over the years because I really love this song. I'm glad I held out so long because I really like the way this recording turned out.
lyrics
It was just my luck to find you here when I didn't have a clue
I could have sworn I'd seen your face somewhere before
Excuse me for one second while I blow the dust off my heart
I haven't used it in such a long time
But now it's finally beating again
And that's something, it's something that I can't argue much with
It wasn't just my luck that we met
It was something beyond our control
Something from up above
I guess only time will tell
I just hope it's not too long
Now I'm not gonna use the word love
Because it usually gets me in trouble
I'm just gonna take it easy and wait it out
If we know what the future has in store we may give up all together
And I'll be damned if I'm gonna give up at all
The sun is finally starting to shine
And that's something, it's something that I will not argue with
It was a twist of fate that we met
And it's something beyond my control
There's something here in my heart
And I don't know what else to do
I just want to get to know you
