I recorded this within a few days of when I quit smoking cigarettes. So that was December 2013. Long story short, I was in a group called Theme Music and I participated in the secret santa that year. My pal Eytan Mirsky "gifted" me this song. So it was my job to cover it. I didn't know who gave it to me at the time, but I assumed that they wanted me to cover it in my typical 70s singer/songwriter acoustic style. Two problems with that. One, I don't like being predictable. Two, I couldn't sing more than the few notes you hear in the range on this recording. My voice almost completely collapsed after I quit smoking. I also was incredibly quiet so I had to have the preamp and compressor cranked to get my vocal down on this song. I'm happy to say that my voice has more than recovered and I've been smoke free for over four years now.
