This is one of those songs that I wrote faster than I could think. My hand couldn't keep up with my brain when I was writing it down on paper. Some writers just have a certain person or a certain place or whatever that inspires them more than anything else. Sometimes it can get frustrating. Sometimes it can cause you to create the best work you've ever done. Sometimes it makes you write songs like this. And the answer is no, I don't have your number written on my wall. That would be weird.
lyrics
I'm detached and I'm unlatched
And I can think of any words that go with your name
I heard your voice, I had no choice
But to think about all the good times that we had
But it's not the same
You're so intangible to me these days though it seems
You keep me on a string but you operate only in my dreams
You keep me all to yourself
I don't even know myself
You keep me all to yourself
Just knowing that something is better out there
It kills me, it thrills me
Just keep me in mind when you're lonely
Just keep me in mind when you're only marking time
Just knowing that something is better out there
You kill me, you thrill me
I don't need your picture anymore to see you
And I don't need your number on my wall
But I've got it all
And I'm real good at denying it all
To everyone but me
